Burnley are set to add to their goalkeeping pool with the signing of Wolves’ Will Norris.

After releasing Joe Hart and Adam Legzdins at the end of their contracts, the club have moved to bolster that unit, with the 26-year-old to link up with number one Nick Pope, Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Lukas Jensen.

Norris, 6ft 5ins, played his youth football at Northwood, before joining Royston Town in 2011.

After helping win the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division title and both the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division Cup and the South Midlands Floodlit Cup, he joined Cambridge United in 2012.

Norris spent five years with the Us, being loaned back to Royston twice, as well as Braintree Town, before being snapped up by Wolves for an undisclosed fee in 2017.

He has made eight appearances for Wolves, including a fleeting Premier League bow against Fulham in May 2019 as a substitute in stoppage time, playing all of 45 seconds after replacing Rui Patrício.

Last season he played 20 games on loan with Ipswich Town in League 1.

Norris had a year remaining on his deal at Wolves, having signed an extension to an initial three-year contract in 2018.
