Early verdict given on Josh Cullen's injury and Joe Worrall's Burnley absence against Everton
Burnley look to have suffered a big setback during their festive clash against Everton – with skipper Josh Cullen forced to hobble off with an injury.
The midfielder appeared to suffer a knee injury at the start of the second-half after contesting a 50/50 challenge with Tim Iroegbunam.
Cullen immediately signalled to the bench that he would have to be taken off. A stretcher came onto the pitch to carry him off, but he was able to hobble off with the aid of two physios.
While it’s too early to know the extent of the setback, manager Scott Parker admits the early signs aren’t particularly positive.
“He doesn't look too good at the moment,” he said.
"Obviously a player like Josh going down and instantly signalling to the bench, he doesn't look too good.
"We'll get some further tests on it, but at this point, he doesn't look too good.”

The Clarets were also without defender Joe Worrall during today’s 0-0 draw, which came as a surprise given he impressed during his first league start of the season at Bournemouth last time out.
Addressing his absence, Parker added: “He picked up an injury yesterday in training. He picked up a little niggle.
"Obviously Joe's been out [of the side] for a little bit of time, weeks previous to this, and he’s picked up an injury after coming back in. It was a late call.
"I suppose the pleasing part of it is that Bash has come in after not having a lot of minutes this season, but I thought he was superb today. I thought he did really, really well. But it was a late call.
“We seem to be on the wrong side of injuries at the moment, obviously with Josh's today as well and a few others, but we’ll cope.”
