Dyche's delight at win over Wanderers

A second half double blast from record signing Andre Gray saw off Neil Lennon's struggling side, as Burnley climbed to fifth in the Championship, level with four teams on 21 points, four behind leaders Brighton.

Dyche said: "I thought we deserved it overall, but I thought for the first 25 minutes, half an hour, Bolton were very good. They started fast and have some real quality, and were running hard for their manager.

"That was plain to see.

"We were strong for the last 15-20 minutes of the half, had three good chances, and although they had some good play, I don't think they opened too many golden chances, and we had a couple, so we were knocking on the door.

"Second half we started nice and bright, and overall created enough chances, and taken enough, to win the game."

He added: "Bolton worked very hard and were very well-organised, it just seems goals have not been so easy to come by, and that sometimes happens.

"We always respect the opposition, and we certainly did today. We stayed in it the first half hour and had good organisation, without being as clear-minded as we have been, but looked very hard to beat, which is pleasing.

"And from roughly 30 minutes onwards, we looked a good side and played some really good football.

"On a different day we could have nicked another goal or two."

George Boyd was forced off with an injury, but it is too early to assess the full implications: "Boydy rolled his ankle so we're hopeful on that one, but we'll see over the next 48 hours."
