Danny Ings agrees move to Liverpool

Clarets striker Danny Ings has secured a move to Liverpool after agreeing personal terms at Anfield.

The 22-year-old, who netted 11 times in his first season in the top flight, will complete his move to Merseyside on July 1st, subject to a medical.

Ings, who made 130 appearances for the Clarets, scoring 43 goals in all competitions after being brought to Turf Moor by Eddie Howe in August 2011, will join a pool of strikers that includes Daniel Sturridge, Rickie Lambert, Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Divock Origi.

While Burnley Football Club has rejected an offer made by the Premier League outfit, though dialogue will be maintained in order to reach a resolution over the fee. If no agreement can be reached in terms of a compensation package then the fee will be set by a tribunal, the Professional Football Compensation Committee.

After overcoming an injury-ravaged start to his time in East Lancashire, Ings formed a 41-goal partnership with Sam Vokes on the way to promotion during the 2013/14 term.

The former Bournemouth striker also went on to feature nine times for England Under-21s, scoring two of his four goals to date in a friendly against Portugal at Turf Moor in November. He will now feature for the Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions for the European Championships in the Czech Republic later this month.
