Clarets unfortunate not to take maximum points - Dyche

Clarets boss Sean Dyche felt his side deserved more from the goalless draw with Sunderland at Turf Moor.

It’s now three successive 0-0 stalemates for the Clarets in the Premier League following on from games with Manchester United and Crystal Palace.

That sequence was a first in England’s top tier since rivals Blackburn Rovers did the same in December 2009.

“I thought overall we probably edged it like I thought we did at Palace last week,” Dyche said. “But the Premier League is very unforgiving.

“There’s really positive signs. The balance was even better today. The defensive side of things was good with the framework of the side and then we found that balance with the attacking side where we created enough chances to win the game.”

The Clarets have now failed to score in five games in all competitions. That last happened under Steve Cotterill in defeats to Wolves, Coventry City, Reading, Derby County and Stoke City during the 2005/06 campaign. But Dyche is convinced there’s a goal and a win just around the corner.

“I’m very pleased with the clean sheet again,” he said. “Three back-to-back is very hard in itself to do. I was very pleased with a lot of the attacking play as well. We’re creating chances and if we keep playing like that then I’m absolutely convinced there’s wins around the corner for us.”
