As soon as the Clarets officially clinched promotion four weeks ago, they were installed as one of the favourites for relegation.

Mee admitted: “I’m looking forward to getting the fixture list and seeing that you’re going to be playing Chelsea, United, City, Arsenal and people like that.

“We’re looking forward to it, but like this year we’re going to go there with no fear. That’s been a big thing for us.

“It will serve us well I’m sure.”

In the meantime, however, the 24-year-old intends to enjoy the best summer of his life: ““We’ll be on our summer holidays just thinking about the season and reflecting on it.

“We’ll probably look back on it more when our careers are finished, because now we’re looking forward to having a few more days like this.

“It’s going to be interesting to see what happens.

“It’s been a great season and it’s really satisfying to look back on it and see what we’ve achieved.

“It’s been amazing and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.”
