Frustrated Burnley fans are demanding answers from the club after feeling let down by the lack of activity in the summer transfer window.

Hundreds of supporters took to social media in an attempt to make their voices heard as Monday's 11 p.m. deadline passed without any new transactions.

The Clarets were unable to tie up the likes of Jeff Hendrick, Aaron Lennon and Joe Hart at the back end of last season and suffered an extensive list of casualties, which ensured that Sean Dyche's squad was stretched to its limits.

Numbers remained thin on the ground after Project Restart, with more key players sidelined through injury, and the group was crying out for an injection of fresh blood.

Back up goalkeeper Will Norris joined from Wolves and midfielder Dale Stephens was brought in from Premier League rivals Brighton. However, the rest of the cavalry didn't arrive.

Here's what you had to say...

Former Burnley goalkeeper Paul Robinson kicked things off with: "I don't feel he's been given the backing and support, the funds he wants to keep them in the league. He'll be disappointed."

Andy Woodward (@Woody9229): "Complete and utter disgrace and shambles of a window. Total slap in the face for SD and can only be the beginning of the end.

"Dont @ me with he won’t walk, he’s paid too much. He earns every penny but won’t stand for the disrespect shown to him and will be off at next opportunity."

Mick Bailey (@mictt09): "So Dyche tells us that Garlick knows what has to be done constantly. When will Garlick come out & tell us the reasons why it hasn't been done.

"Starting to think this chairman loves the control he has over this club. Media face & chairman face are 2 separate things."

Richard Hardcastle (@sixtysixrick): "Looks like Sean will be shopping in the “Dented tin section” later on this week."

Dave Harvey (@Harvey_dj): "@BurnleyOfficial is a disgrace - Premier League team working on League 1 budget - won’t be surprised to see Dyche walk after this."

Daz McKavett (@Dazmac1882): "Hello darkness my old friend!"

Sam (@SamBFC442): "Didn’t expect big million pound signings but a couple of loans would of been good."

Christopher O'Brien (@Chrisobrien1987): "Really feel for the guy! Wouldn't be surprised if he walks! The board/Garlick really needs looking at."

Andrew Ramsay (@atramsay87): "Bye bye Dyche!"

@NorthernRudeBoy: "I’m miffed we haven’t replaced Lennon. I’m fuming that the club are basically not even bothering to communicate. What’s the end goal and how do we get there? That’s all we want to know."

Ian G (@BB10_4BX): "@BurnleyOfficial have done amazing things over recent years under the leadership of Garlick.

"Something is obviously going on behind the scenes, if we really are ‘one club for all’, a press conference is the least we can expect."

Kevin Tootle (@kevitchy): "Shocking behaviour from the board. Sean will leave for sure and I don’t blame him."

Chris Holden (@ClaretChris67): "Garlick has to go before he wrecks the club he supposedly loves."

Graham Seabrook (@GrahamSeabrook1): "Sadly it’s what we have come to expect.. I can’t comprehend why we haven’t been more active.. It’s now become the norm.. still a season ticket holder and always a claret but getting less interested in football."

Steven Heaton (@Stevenbfc): "Shocking by @BurnleyOfficial, the chairman or the board needs to come out and explain why we haven’t strengthened and helped the manager.

"We have 6 players out of contact in the summer; 12 championship clubs have spent more money then us. It’s a disgrace!!"

George Poole (@GeorgePuddle): "Genuinely pathetic from the club. Almost unthinkable that we could get to this position, even with our years of crappy business... wow."

Darryl Slack (@DarrylSlack2): "It's an absolute farce and disgrace. SD should walk as the club obviously think nothing of him, no ambition whatsoever. Wilson surely would have happened if we weren't haggling over a few mil? Fans and Dyche deserve answers. Shocking!"

Paul Robinson (@paul_rob88): "Garlick needs to come out and explain why we’ve spent 2 million net spend in 2 windows, disgraceful."

Danny (@DannyHaslam): "Absolute disgrace!!!"

Mr Milltown (@burnleyguy): "Embarassing & disgraceful."

Nathan Rawlinson (@Spooner1882): "If we stay up this season it will be a miracle."

Brandon (@BrandonGoudie1): "That is absolutely abysmal, I’ll pack Dyche’s suitcase for him. Board and our club do not deserve him. Embarrassing."

Rob Drake (@Robbieclaret): "The worrying thing for me is that the teams around have all strengthened significantly and we are left in their wake. I'm afraid there's only one place we're going and it's five years down the pan."

Dominic Potts (@Dompotts_): "Board has to make some kind of statement this week explaining to fans the current situation because what's happening is totally unacceptable."

RuthM (@Rubymu): "Shocking and scandalous."

Ben Costello (@BenCostello1882): "Feel for Dyche, deserves so much more from the board. Don't see him staying beyond this season."

Gav (@Gav_BFC): "SD needs to go for his own good! Absolutely shambolic from the board not to back him!"

Andrew Worthington (@Iamworthy2007): "No surprise, but scandalous nonetheless."

Martin Biddulph (@MartinBiddulp13): "No ambition."

James (@Grimblessss): "Absolutely pathetic."

Wayne Ormerod: "Board need to talk to the fans and explain the situation. Hostility on social media might stop but at the moment people are frustrated and venting. Without the fans there is not a club."
