Clarets close in on Defour signing?
Burnley looked to have taken a giant step closer to breaking their transfer record in capturing RSC Anderlecht midfielder Steven Defour.
The 28-year-old had reportedly been considering an offer from United Arab Emirates club Al-Jazira, who had reportedly put a better financial package on the table, but it seems a face-to-face meeting with Clarets boss Sean Dyche has prompted a change of heart.
Dyche was reportedly in the stands at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium to watch Defour score in a 5-1 win for Anderlecht against KV Kortrijk on Saturday.
Sources in Belgium suggest that a fee, believed to be in the region of €7.5m, has been agreed between the two clubs with the midfielder expected to undergo a medical on Monday.
