Clarets co-chairman John Banaszkiewicz has called on Burnley fans to pack Turf Moor for what he describes as two “play-off finals”.

The club have arranged for season ticket holders to move into the popular David Fishwick Cricket Field Stand– releasing 1,600 seats – for the final two home games against Leicester City a week tomorrow, and Stoke City on May 16th.

Burnley travel to Everton tomorrow, lying two points behind Hull City, who occupy 17th place – the final safety slot – with Sunderland a point better off in 16th.

The Black Cats are without a game this weekend, having been scheduled to face FA Cup semi-finalists Arsenal, giving the Clarets a chance to put pressure on Dick Advocaat’s men, and Banaszkiewicz feels survival remains a strong possibility: “The lads are still in there giving their all with what are six play-off finals to come.

“And we would love to see Turf Moor packed for the two home games against Leicester and Stoke, to try and help Sean and the team in their efforts.

“We’ve tried to listen to the fans and taken their views on board regarding moving back into the Cricket Field Stand, and we hope getting some Burnley fans back in there will make a difference.

“But we need the rest of the ground full as well, to help re-create the atmosphere we had against Manchester City and Arsenal recently.”
