Burnley will take some beating

Burnley came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at his former club Millwall on Saturday, meaning they have lost only one of their first 14 league games.

Leicester went level on points at the top of the table after a 3-0 win at Watford in the earlier televised game, but the Clarets went a point clear, with a six-better goal difference after fighting back in South London.

And Dyche said: “The team’s important, the mentality again goes into that – the mentality in order to not be beat. You just get that feeling at the moment if someone’s going to turn us over they’re going to have to work really hard and play really well in order to do so.

“We are building a really strong mentality here and it showed again. We were 2-0 down and there was no disappointment from the players, the way they responded immediately shows that.

“We believe in attacking teams constantly and that’s what we did overall.”

Burnley had won seven league games on the spin going into the trip to The Den, but Dyche added: “You do get greedy with these things and that’s why there’s a balance and a reality. I’m a realist.

“It’s hard to fly in every game and we have been flying, the players have been delivering some fine performances and it’s hard to do that every single week.”

Scott Arfield returned after two games out with a groin problem, while David Jones, back from suspension, and Michael Kightly shook off niggles to start.

However, Dean Marney was absent with a thigh problem and Dyche admitted: “He wasn’t right, we couldn’t risk him. He’s got another week’s recovery and then the international break so we hope it settles down quickly.”

Dyche has until November 28th to add loan players to his squad, and he said: “There are a few options we’ve looked at but yet again it all has to tally up. It’s not an easy situation, there are many factors that have to tally up and there are only so many players out there.”
