Burnley transfer news: Clarets' £50m-rated star tipped for transfer amid Aston Villa & Leicester City interest
The summer transfer window is just around the corner, and it looks set to be a busy few months for Burnley as Sean Dyche looks to fine-tune his squad ahead of next season.
One player who has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Turf Moor is Clarets star Dwight McNeil who has continued to dazzle in the Premier League as he closes in on his 100th top tier appearance.
According to a report from Football Insider, Aston Villa will look to sign the 21-year-old this summer, as they look to strengthen their squad with two top-quality inside forwards.
It is claimed that Burnley's Premier League rivals are ready to table a “huge bid” in order to capture McNeil, who has also been linked with the likes of Leicester City and Manchester United in previous transfer windows.
Certainly, any club looking to bring in McNeil will not be able to do so on the cheap as, last October, the player signed a one-year extension taking his deal up until 2024, which also includes the option of a further year.
Speaking to the Burnley Express earlier in the month, the Clarets ace revealed he's looking to play a more central role in his side's formation in the future, but is more than content playing in a wide position for the time being.
Meanwhile, Burnley are busy behind the scenes preparing for their weekend clash against West Ham United, as they look to continue moving steadily away from the relegation zone.
