Burnley sign young winger, as Conn-Clarke joins Cod Army
The teenager has joined the Clarets’ Academy after training with the club since the summer.
He has caught the eye for the Under 18s and 23s, and featured as Steve Stone’s side beat Newcastle United 2-0 in Premier League 2 on Monday afternoon.
Limerick-born Costelloe joined League of Ireland side Galway in 2017 and made his senior debut at the age of 15.
He earned a first-team contract for the 2019 season, before leaving Deacy Park.
However, Northern Ireland youth international Chris Conn-Clarke has left the Clarets to join Fleetwood Town.
The third-year scholar, 19, who helped Burnley reach the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals last season, has been training with the Cod Army after joining Chorley on a work experience loan, and now makes the switch permanent to end a two-and-a-half-year stay at Burnley.
