Following the 3-3 draw at St James’ Park which the Clarets had to come from behind three times, Carver told Burnley boss Sean Dyche that the Clarets should have won the game.

After Sissoko had struck to put the hosts back in front late on, Carver thought his side had gotten out of jail, but George Boyd’s equaliser made sure Burnley left Newcastle with a well deserved point.
