Vincent Kompany’s men had to win in North London to give themselves any hope of staying up.
Despite briefly giving themselves hope when Jacob Bruun Larsen handed them the lead, Spurs came from behind to inflict a 2-1 defeat.
Here’s how Burnley’s players rated:
9. Vitinho - 5/10
Allowed Pedro Porro to get the wrong side of him too easily for Spurs’ equaliser. Saw a goalbound header saved early on. Photo: Bryn Lennon
10. Wilson Odobert - 7/10
Squandered a huge chance to give Burnley the lead at the start of the second-half when he fired just over. Always a threat. Photo: Bryn Lennon
11. Lyle Foster - 6/10
Looked brighter than he has in recent weeks but still struggled to get himself in the game or get on the end of any chances. Photo: Julian Finney
12. SUB: Manuel Benson - 6/10
