The Clarets looked to be heading to a much-needed victory in this must-win encounter thanks to Zeki Amdouni’s first-half strike.
But the Hatters snatched a point right at the death with a highly controversial goal from Carlton Morris, who headed into the back of an empty net after James Trafford had clearly been blocked by Elijah Adebayo.
Despite Luton barely even celebrating the goal, VAR deemed there was no foul and the goal was given – much to Burnley’s frustration.
Here’s how Burnley’s players rated...

5. Ameen Al-Dakhil - 6/10
Targeted with diagonal balls over the top at left-back but needed more support from the winger in front of him. Got forward well in the second-half. Photo: Naomi Baker

6. Josh Cullen - 7/10
Produced some important blocks to deny Ross Barkley and involved in a lot of good build-up play in the second-half. Photo: Naomi Baker

7. Josh Brownhill - 6/10
Gave the ball away too often in the first-half and free-kicks were generally poor, but improved as the game wore on. Photo: Naomi Baker

8. Johann Gudmundsson - 5/10
Got to be more clinical in the final third. Missed a golden chance early on and failed to pick out Lyle Foster with a fairly routine cross. Photo: Naomi Baker
