Burnley open pre-season campaign
Sean Dyche’s men played concurrent games against Tranmere Rovers and Shrewsbury Town, with further games set to be confirmed for Tuesday night and next Saturday.
Burnley will then play their Carabao Cup second round tie the week beginning September 7th, and while their opening League game at home to Manchester United has been postponed, due to United’s involvement in the latter stages of the Europa League earlier this month, the Clarets will then open up at Leicester City on Saturday, September 19th.

Against Tranmere, midway through the first half, Robbie Brady combined with Erik Pieters to feed Matej Vydra, who finished well.
And right on half-time, from a Brady corner, Jimmy Dunne’s knockdown was nodded in by fellow centre back Bobby Thomas.
