The Clarets could well see an unchanged line-up from their last match which saw them run out 2-0 winners at home to Coventry City, although manager Scott Parker has said injured players are making good progress.
Parker’s pre-match comments
Speaking from the club’s Barnfield training complex before Saturday’s match, Parker revealed that several players were nearing full fitness.

Hide AdHe also had an update on key midfielder Josh Brownhill who missed the last game with a knock.
“Josh is on the grass today, we’ll see where we are tomorrow in terms of making a call on him, he didn’t fully train today,” Parker said.
“There’s a few players progressing well. Some good signs with a few of the lads – Lyle Foster, Joe Worrall, Hjalmar (Ekdal), Hannes (Delcroix), have been in and around the training group now for some weeks. We might look at getting them some game time with the under-21s to get them up to speed. Pleasing in that sense.
“We’re going to need everyone fit, with the demands of this league we need a fit squad to freshen things up.”

Hide AdSaturday’s opponents Stoke currently sit 14th in the table but remain unbeaten in their last five and Parker was no under illusions over the tough nature of the fixture with the Potters sharing a similarly miserly recent defensive record with the Clarets.
“Stoke are a solid team, defensively they’ve been very sound. We’ve got to bring the best version of ourselves, in the attacking phase of our game. They seem to be able to shut the door on teams. We’ll go there and keep nudging away and see if we can get a result.”
