Burnley v Bristol City confirmed XIs amid Dastan Satpayev injury blow

Confirmed XIs and team news for Burnley v Bristol City

Burnley have been dealt a major injury blow ahead of this afternoon’s Championship clash against Bristol City.

Dastan Satpeyev misses out for the Clarets and is not named in their match day squad after picking up an issue during the midweek 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough.

The Chelsea loanee, who has been the standout performer for Burnley so far this season, left the pitch 10 minutes from time appearing to clutch his hamstring.

While Nicky Hayen had hoped it was just a case of cramp, it’s understood the Kazakhstan international has suffered an injury.

Elsewhere, Hayen makes six changes in total from the midweek game as he freshens up his starting XI amid Burnley’s busy schedule.

A number of players, such as Connor Roberts and Anel Ahmedhodzic, are having their minutes managed, with the duo among those to drop to the bench.

Deadline day signing Reo Hatate is thrown straight in for his Clarets debut, while Max Alleyne, Kyle Walker, Aaron Ramsey and Larguie Ramazani all start.

For Ramazani, it’s the winger’s full debut after the Leeds United loanee impressed off the bench against Boro.

Josh Laurent, meanwhile, also comes into the starting XI after serving his one-match suspension in midweek.

Surprisingly, Andreas Hountondji continues in attack despite a poor display against Middlesbrough, which saw him hooked off at half time.

Hannibal, Zeki Amdouni and Jacob Bruun Larsen all drop down to the bench alongside Ahmedhodzic and Roberts.

Deadline day arrival Igor Julio, who hasn’t had much of a pre-season, is only fit enough to make the bench.

Lucas Pires misses out the final match as he serves concussion protocol following his accidental clash of heads during the recent cup tie against Bradford City. He’s back fit for Wrexham on Tuesday.

Jordan Beyer, Bashir Humphreys, Josh Cullen, Enock Agyei, Jaydon Banel and Ashley Barnes all remain sidelined, while Marcus Edwards and Mike Tresor are not involved.

As for Bristol City, they make four changes to the side that beat Preston North End 3-1 in midweek. Former Claret Scott Twine is among those to start.
