Burnley's deadline day stance on Sheffield United left-back Harrison Burrows
Burnley see late bid for Harrison Burrows knocked back
Burnley have had a transfer deadline day bid for Sheffield United’s Harrison Burrows knocked back.
As per transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke, the Clarets have seen a late offer for the left-back rejected by the Blades.
Danny Hall, of our sister paper the Sheffield Star, claims Nicky Hayen’s side are expected to return with an improved offer.
He also claims the initial bid was in the region of £3.5m, potentially rising to £5m.
But sources have told the Burnley Express that Burnley aren’t expecting to return and a deal is not expected to happen.
Amid the speculation, the 24-year-old has been left out of Chris Wilder’s squad for their Championship game against Bolton Wanderers tonight.
Burnley are known to be in the market for a left-back ahead of tonight’s 11pm deadline.
Igor Julio, a centre-back who can also play at left-back, was due to have a medical this afternoon ahead of a proposed move from Brighton.
The Clarets are currently without Bashir Humphreys for the next two months due to a knee injury.
Lucas Pires, meanwhile, will miss a second straight game against Middlesbrough tomorrow night due to concussion protocol following an accidental clash of heads in the cup game against Bradford City.
Connor Roberts was forced to fill in at left-back against Norwich City on Saturday.
