Burnley FC reserves win yet again!

RESERVE Division leaders Burnley picked up another three points on Wednesday night with a 2-1 win over Morecambe at Kendal Town’s Lakeside Radio Stadium.

Alex MacDonald (pictured) continued his good vein of form with another goal, while Curtis Woods was also on target with his first for the second string.

On a bitterly cold night, attractive passing football was at a premium on a less-than-perfect pitch, but the Clarets went ahead seven minutes from the break when the impressive Chris Anderson fed MacDonald, and, fresh from his first cap for Scottish Under 21s, he turned and fired home, courtesy of a deflection.

MacDonald was agonisingly close to a second just after the interval when again Anderson was the provider, but MacDonald’s lob beat the keeper, only to bounce horribly wide, courtesy of what must have been some bobble!.

Burnley continued to have the upper hand, and they finally douibled their lead seven minutes from time.

Anderson’s perfecxtly-weighted pass allowed right back Woods to run onto the ball, and his cross-cum-shot found the far corner.

Dominic Knowles then had a shot cleared off the line, before Morecambe grabbed a consolation in added time through substitute Callum Moore.
