Burnley FC ‘deeply regrets’ Charlie Austin’s court appearance
The Clarets star Charlie Austin (23) has been found guilty of assaulting a man in a Swindon nightclub on October 13th.
The Clarets top scorer, who used to play for Swindon Town, had denied the charge and said he was acting in self-defence.

Hide AdHe was found guilty of common assault by beating, fined £1,800 and ordered to pay £1,320 in costs.
In a staement, Burnley Football Club said it “deeply regrets that one of its employees has faced court action in relation to their personal behaviour.
“The club does not condone law breaking of any kind. However, the club recognises the sometimes unwanted attention that is at times thrust upon some of its players.
“The club will continue to stress with all employees the importance of acting as positive ambassadors - even in difficult and unwanted circumstances.”
The club has said it will make no further comment.
