The new philosophy will emphasise UK based players as a priority for recruitment and, as a result Burnley FC will now cease the Academy programme in Australia.

This sees a conclusion to the Academy partnership with HPC Football and its founder Paul Wozny.

Paul, who was the Head of Youth Development for Australasia, has worked hard to promote Burnley Football Club in Australia, New Zealand and parts of Asia.

Burnley Football Club would like to place on record their appreciation of Paul’s efforts in developing the Australian Academy programme.

The Burnley Football Club Academy will maintain a positive relationship with Paul and HPC Football by continuing to invite their travelling teams to participate in fixtures while in the UK, ensuring their Australian players gain experience playing against UK Academy teams.
