Lancashire will be aiming to win the trophy for the fifth successive year when they take on South Yorkshire this evening, with this Battle of the Roses taking place at Padiham FC’s YESSS Electrical Arena Arbories Memorial Sports Grounds.

The Lancashire squad features seven players registered with Blackburn Rovers’ Centre of Excellence, including Kim Sykes, who is a pupil at Unity College in Burnley.

Although there are no current Burnley FC Girls and Ladies’ players in the Under 16s squad, the club’s former striker, Sadie Mitchell, is included, as is Olivia Wilkes, daughter of Padiham FC manager, Steve.

It would be fantastic to see a big crowd giving the players their support.

Kick-off is 7 p.m. – why not go and cheer on the Red Roses?
