Fell runners are roaring success at Lions race as Corrigan wins

The 31st Burnley Lions race took place last Friday in good running conditions and brought a creditable time of 33 mins 45 secs from Thomas Corrigan of Barlick Fell Runners, a comfortable minute and seven seconds in front of stablemate Matthew Lalor.

Another Barlick Fell Runner, Julian Hood, completed the first three in 35 mins 47 secs.

Louisa Powell-Smith of Clayton Harriers came first in the ladies’ race in a time of 40 mins 3 secs, followed by Sarah Tippler (Barlick Fell Runners) in 40 mins 46 secs and Emma Taylor (Accrington Road Runners) in 41 mins 3 secs.

The first man and woman received a year’s free gym membership thanks to Xercise4Less, Burnley.
