Rain hits Ribblesdale League again with all games abandoned

Rain was again the only winner in the Houldsworth Solicitors Ribblesdale Cricket League on Saturday.

Not a ball was bowled in the Senior Division, with all games abandoned.

In the First Division, only one game was completed, as Cherry Tree seconds beat Ribblesdale Wanderers seconds, who were restricted to 66-6, chasing a revised target of 75, down from 114.

All Second Division games were abandoned.

The Third Division was more successful on Sunday - though Clitheroe thirds v Padiham was abandoned.

Brooksbottom beat Cherry Tree by three wickets, Earby beat Edenfield by the same margin, Euxton beat Salesbury by 119 runs and Great Harwood beat Oswaldtwistle Immanuel by 80 runs.

Read beat Feniscowles by six wickets, Ribblesdale Wanderers beat Baxenden by 92 runs, and Burnley Belvedere beat Whalley by eight wickets.

This weekend in the Senior Division, Padiham host Great Harwood and Read are at Earby on Saturday, before, the following day, Read host Padiham at Whalley Road in the first derby clash of the new season, with wickets pitched at 1-30 p.m.
