Harry’s kind donation to Lowerhouse Cricket Club

Lowerhouse Cricket Club are pleased to announce that the recent sale of Sir Len Hutton’s 1954/5 Australian Tour cap has resulted in a donation of £1,000 from seller and local cricket supporter Harry Brooks.

Harry had decided to sell the cap and to present the club with the proceeds in appreciation for the work done at the club with regard to junior and senior cricket.

Managing Director Matt Stansfield said: “We are very grateful to Harry for this kind donation, and we have agreed to spend the money on ground machinery.

“The cost of providing quality cricket for our junior and senior teams is increasing all the time, and donations such as this are a huge boost and very much appreciated indeed.”

• Burnley Cricket Club is holding a junior welcome and registration night on Friday from 8 p.m. Any interested cricketers are more than welcome to attend, along with current players, and the club look forward to seeing you.
