The 32-year-old boasted figures of 5-22 in his 10-over spell when adding the scalps of David Warner, Adam Voges, Mitchell Marsh, Peter Nevill and Mitchell Johnson to the 406 victims that had gone before them.

Voges (16) and Marsh (0) were extinguished via the combination of Anderson and Jos Buttler, taking the score to 82-5. Nevill (2) and Johnson (3) were then sent marching back to the hutch with Australia struggling on 94-7.
