Burnley's Jimmy Anderson secured another remarkable milestone with his latest wicket against Pakistan in the Third Test at Edgbaston.

With the fourth ball of the day, the 34-year-old claimed the scalp of Mohammad Hafeez to bring up wicket number 50 against the Green Shirts, ranked third with the ICC.

Misbah ul Haq’s men became the seventh nation on Anderson’s list to have had 50 men fall to England’s all-time highest international wicket-taker.

Only two other bowlers in the history of cricket have been able to achieve that feat with Anil Kumble also doing it against seven countries while Muttiah Muralitharan has completed the clean sweep of all nine Test playing nations.

Bangladesh and Zimbabwe are the two countries missing on Anderson’s CV.

Other bowlers to feature high ojn the list are:

Glenn McGrath: 565 wickets and 50 against six other teams but not Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

Courtnery Walsh: 519 wickets and 50 against five other teams but not New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe or Bangladesh, who he has never featured against.

Kapil Dev: 434 wickets and 50 against four other teams.

Richard Hadlee: 431 wickets and 50 against five other teams.

Shaun Pollock: 421 wickets and 50 against only three teams, but only one good series short of adding Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka against who he has 40 or more wickets.

Harbhajan Simngh: 417 wickets and 50 or more against four countries.

Shane Warne: 708 wickets and 50 against six Test playing nations but not India, Zimbabwe or Bangladesh.
