Burnley Rounders festival takes place today
Some of the elite stars from England senior, Under-19s and Under-16s squad will be attending the event at at the Prairie Sports Village, in Windermere Avenue. After the success of rounders across the country, a great interest has been shown in bringing the England stars to Burnley.
This weekend’s festival will see the England players take on teams from the local leagues from the Burnley area.

Hide AdThroughout the day, spectators can expect to see a series of matches played with a healthy competitive spirit from all participating teams.
Head coach and events organiser at Rounders England Michele Golland said: “The rounders fixtures are a great opportunity to showcase our beloved sport and raise the profile of rounders when played at its best. “The atmosphere at our events is phenomenal and always proves to be a success each year.”
There are four female England squads that represent Rounders England at fixtures and festivals over the playing season.
They play annually in both home and away games. The squads are elite players and are ambassadors for England and for the sport of Rounders.

Hide AdGolland added: Rounders is a great spectator sport. There is no charge for attending any of the festivals and fixtures, so if you’re local to the area, come along and give the teams your support.”
The day starts at 11am and will finish around 4pm.
