Burnley celebrate 90th anniversary in style

The visiting team contained players from Fylde, Rossendale and other northern clubs, and eventually pulled away in an entertaining match, played before a sizeable crowd.
Also in attendance was the AAs President Malcolm Philips, a former President of the RFU, and a distinguished former England international.

The day before, Burnley seconds had a good win over Preston Grasshoppers, emerging victorious by a 27-14 scoreline.
They should have won by more, but ill-discipline allowed the visitors to maintain a toe hold in the game.
Austin Ralph at scrum half and Mike Jessiman in the centre were outstanding, with Rob O Brien seemingly everywhere.
