The 22-year-old has left his Burnley base to be trained by one-time WBU middleweight champion Anthony Farnell, who has previously had Anthony Colla and Tony Bellew in his stable in Failsworth.
Hayden is scheduled to make his debut in June at the King George’s Hall in Blackburn, subject to all medicals being passed by the British Boxing Board of Control.
“I would like to thank my team,” said Hayden. “There’s Kevin Maree, Pádraig Coakley, and Anthony Farnell for making my dream come true and a special thanks to Jon Edmondson at Radiant physiotherapy for getting me back in the ring.
“I can’t wait to get back. I’ve had people from all over the Rossendale Valley giving me support and it’s much appreciated.
“I can’t wait to make them proud. It’s something that I’ve wanted to do for a while and now my dream has finally come true.”
