Burnley Thai boxer’s points victory

Burnley Thai-Boxer, Ryan ‘Raz’ Williams, picked up a superb unanimous points win on his latest outing at the IKON VI Fight Night in Bolton.

This prestigious show was again promoted by Sandy Holt from Bolton Thai Boxing Club, and had World champion Andy Thrasher in attendance at ringside, providing commentary for P4TV.

Raz was second on the card to fight against opponent Pete Holden of the Spitfire Gym based in Heywood, with both fighters having made the 70Kg cut at the previous days weigh-in.

This was a well-matched fight that saw both fighters having to dig deep to stay in contention.

Holden was an extremely hard and durable Thai-Boxer, and certainly Raz’s toughest opponent to date.

However, Raz’s strength and technical ability had all three judges declare a unanimous points win after five gruelling rounds.

Credit was given to both fighters in what was described as a war.

After the fight, Raz wanted to express his thanks to his fight team, namely chief instructor Ken Williams, instructor Joe Fitzpatrick and a special thanks going to Danny Hoyle for his many sparring hours in the gym with Raz.
