Approach road honours stalwart

Lowerhouse Cricket Club has honoured former club stalwart and president David Wren by naming the approach road to the ground after him.

The sign was officially unveiled at the weekend by members of David’s family.

Son Andrew Wren said: “Dad would have been really humbled by the thoughtful gesture by the cricket club to honour his memory in this way.

“It is nice for mum, Laura and I to see how the cricket club held my dad in such high regard.

Thank you to everyone who participated in making it happen”

David had joined the club as a committee man in the 1980’s and has served as League Rep, Secretary, Chairman, Managing Director and President.

David’s service to Lowerhouse Cricket Club was recognised in 2013 when he was appointed Club President and awarded the lifetime achievement award at the Burnley Community Sports Awards.
