A new documentary about Wayne and Coleen Rooney is on the way
Fans of Wayne Rooney will soon get an up close and personal look into the football star's life in a new revealing documentary.

Hide AdThe upcoming documentary, titled ROONEY, will explore the England and Manchester United footballer’s career and personal and early life.
The film is currently being produced by Lorton Entertainment, the same company that produced the documentary films Supersonic (which documents the life of the band Oasis), and Maradona, which follows the life of Argentine footballer Diego Maradona.
It is also being directed by BAFTA-winner Matt Smith, who produced Rio Ferdinand's documentary, Rio Ferdinand: Being Mum and Dad.

The film will showcase Rooney’s best performances and career highlights. It will also take a more personal look into his life as a young boy pursuing his dreams, and his time with wife, Coleen.
It will delve into the pressures he faced when making his professional debut for Everton at 16, as well as providing insight into his rollercoaster relationship with the press.
The film will feature personal home video footage as well as interviews with famous faces in the world of football. It will also include never-before-seen footage of Rooney’s private life.

Hide AdThe footballer said, “I’m excited to be the subject of this documentary. This is a film that looks in detail at my journey: the highs, the lows, the beautiful game, finally I have the opportunity to show the person I really am.”
The release date has not yet been announced, but production has now begun.
Colleen's defamation lawsuit
The documentary includes the recent news that Rebekah Vardy is suing Coleen Rooney for defamation.

Hide AdVardy, wife of footballer Jamie Vardy, began court proceedings, after Rooney accused her of leaking personal stories to the press through her Instagram account.
Vardy claims that Rooney slandered her with the accusations. Rooney criticised Vardy’s defamation lawsuit, saying their “time and money could be put to better use.”
