Woman raped after night out
Police have appealed for information after a woman in her 20s was raped as she made her way home from a night out.
The incident occurred close to a footbridge in Palmerston Street, Padiham, around 2am yesterday morning (Monday).
Police cordoned off the bridge for a time yesterday to search for evidence.
Detectives are trying to find out if the woman had met her attacker in Padiham earlier in the night.
The attack scene is just yards from where an eight-year-old girl was sexually assaulted last year.
