Woman cut free from Higham car smash - latest

A CAR flipped onto its roof following a crash in Higham on Monday evening.

The driver of a red Citroen Zara lost control in Barrowford Road, crashing into conifer hedges and a wall and then bouncing back into the carriageway.

The accident happened at 5-45 p.m. near Higham Hall Road and no other vehicles were involved.

Fire crews were called to the scene and cut a female occupant from the car using Holmatro cutters and spreaders.

Another male passenger had already freed himself from the vehicle by the time they arrived and was walking around.

Police shut off the road until 8-55 p.m.

The driver and the passenger both escaped with minor injures but were taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital as a precautionary measure.
