What More UK Ltd, which makes and distributes plastic housewares and other products from its base in Altham, has long-standing links with Derian House, previously donating a minibus.

Julie Brannon, one of the draw organisers, said: “We wanted to support the hospice again with our grand Christmas draw because of the great work it does.”

A total of 40 prizes were donated for the draw, together worth almost £2,400.

They included an Apple iPad, a night in a top Manchester hotel, an original painting, a luxury Italian food hamper, a paintballing extravaganza, concert tickets for the Manchester Arena, theme park tickets, shopping vouchers and bottles of wine and spirits.

“We want to say a huge thank-you to everyone who donated prizes,” said fellow draw organiser Matthew Hand.

Chris Weldrand, also from What More, added: “It felt like giving a Christmas present to someone who really deserves it.”
