The group gathered at Wavelengths, Nelson, early on their walk morning and were transported by local coach company Moving People to the first of their three peaks.

Wavelengths manager Quammer Iqbal said: “We wanted to link in a social aspect to our monthly gym challenges to keep our customers enthusiastic and focussed on their fitness. So we decided to head off over the three peaks.

“As well as linking our gym challenge to a social event, we also wanted to raise money for a local charity close to our hearts which was Pendleside Hospice. We have completed several support events with the hospice in the past which included supporting them with the Midnight Walk.

“There is so much work that is done by the hospice which, in my opinion, is very rewarding and looking after the people at the hospice in the way the staff do is amazing. Pendle Leisure Trust will try to do an annual charity fund-raiser to support them.”
