Leanne Hodgson, who lives close to Calder Park in Ightenhill, asked her colleagues from Mondelez, formerly Cadbury, if they would give up some time to spruce up the area with the Friends of Calder Park group.

They happily obliged and with the help of Burnley Council got stuck into the task.

Leanne said: "We removed fence posts from the trees, added wood chip to the playground, cut back the hedges, improved paths, entrances from Longton Road and the Spinney and installed a new bin.

"We received a lot of positive feedback from the residents."
