Video: Muslim march attracts thousands
Thousands of Muslim men took part in a procession through Nelson yesterday in celebration of the prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
Women and children handed out food to the 5,000 taking to the streets, which were closed off by police for safety.
Along the route, there were prayers and songs, with those taking part waving flags.
The Ghausia Mosque was the starting point for the Nelson procession.
