Video: car is engulfed in flames
Firefighters from Padiham rushed to the scene of a car fire in Read shortly after 9am today (Wendesday).
The car, a Ford Focus, was well alight when the crew arrived, but they quickly brought the blaze under control using a single hose reel.
No-one was injured in the incident, which happened in Whalley Road, near the bottom of George Lane, although there was some disruption to traffic while emergency services dealt with the fire and its aftermath.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
