VEKA stages family fun day celebrations

The VEKA UK Group opened its doors for a family fun day to celebrate the company's 30th year of manufacturing in the UK.

More than 400 people flocked through the doors and children had their faces painted while there was a tombola, bucking bronco, bouncy castles, sweet stalls, a penalty shoot-out, a live band and even a visit from Burnley FC mascot Bertie Bee.

Managing Director Dave Jones said:“The fun day was a great success and was our way of thanking our staff for all their hard work.

“As a company, we are proud to lead the industry in our field but we wouldn’t be able to provide the great products and service we do without the commitment of all our staff. It’s a pleasure to celebrate 30 years at the heart of Burnley’s Business Community.

“The mood was celebratory and there was lots for people to do and plenty to eat. We also raised over £1,000 for Derian House Children’s Hospice in the process.”

The German-owned VEKA Group opened a PVC-U profile plant in Burnley in 1986 and has now grown to become one of Burnley’s biggest employers with around 400 staff.

Proudly named Burnley’s ‘Business of the Year’ for two years running, The VEKA UK Group is also the country’s biggest supplier of PVC-U profile for high quality windows and doors.
