Updated: Read woman (42) on arson charge after house blaze

A 42-year-old woman has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life following a Read house fire.

Angela Gott, of Whalley Road, Read, appeared at Blackburn Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Her case was sent for trial to Burnley Crown Court on March 19th and Gott was remanded in custody.

A second woman, who suffered severe burns to her hands and face during the fire, is still being treated at Wythenshawe Burns Unit for her injuries.

A team of around 18 firefighters tackled the blaze at the property in Whalley Road on Sunday February 15th.
