UPDATE: M65 death crash motorist named


Father-of-two Mark Andrew Jones (44) from Barrowford was killed when his black BMW car is thought to have veered into the central reservation before turning over and coming to rest on its roof a couple of hundred metres down the carriageway.
More than 100 messages of condolences were posted on the Nelson Now and Then Facebook page following the news of Mr Jones’ death, which was confirmed by his mother Jackie Rogers who said the family were “devastated”.

Hide AdMr Jones, who leaves a wife and two children, was the brother of Pendle West Lancashire County Coun. Christian Wakeford.
The Conservative County Councillor, who lives in Roughlee, thanked people for their messages of support on the social media page.
He said: “Obviously we’re all devastated at this difficult time, just wanted to thank everyone for the kind words, thoughts and prayers for my brother.”
Paramedics attended but sadly Mr Jones (44) was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hide AdRoad closures were in place for about four hours following the incident.
Sgt Finn Quainton of the Road Policing Team said: “This is a difficult time for the family and friends of the motorist, who are being supported by specially trained officers.
“Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is urged to contact us with any information they may have that could help us to establish exactly what happened and to help us with our enquiries.
“I’m also keen to speak to anyone that may have seen the black BMW in the area prior to the collision.”
