A calf that got stuck in a ditch had to be rescued by firefighters yesterday.

Two fire engines from Colne and Nelson were called to rescue the animal from the ditch in Leyland Close, Trawden.

Firefighters worked with the farmer to free the trapped animal before it was taken to the farm for treatment.

The drama happened yesterday at around 5-30pm.
