Tributes for Claudia (18)

THE sudden death of a Clitheroe teenager whose body was found on the railway line between Blackburn and Clitheroe has sent shockwaves through the local community.

Flowers and tributes have been tied to railings in Ribchester Road, Wilpshire, over the weekend, in memory of 18-year-old Claudia Sarah Linley, who died after being struck by a train on Friday.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “BTP officers attended the line close to Ramsgreave and Wilpshire Road rail station on Friday, July 2nd, after a report that a woman had been struck by a freight train.

Paramedics also attended, but Claudia was pronounced dead at the scene.

Claudia, who was the daughter of Betina Linley, of Bawdlands, Clitheroe, and the sister of James (24), attended Clitheroe’s St Michael and St John’s RC Primary School and then St Augustine’s RC High School, at Billington.
