Rossendale Road speed limit cut back to 30mph

Lancashire County Council has confirmed changes to the speed limit on Rossendale Road in Burnley.

A Speed Limit Order made on September 2 revokes the previous 40mph limit introduced in 2024. The notice states: “Where no new speed limit is applied, the road will revert to “restricted road” status, meaning a 30mph limit will automatically apply due to street lighting.”

The change was due to come into effect this week.

Councils have an obligation to publish legal notices on issues with a public interest, like planning, licensing and roadworks. They appear in our classified section and at publicnoticeportal.uk.
