Police are urging motorists to avoid a large section of the M65 due to an ongoing incident.

The motorway is currently closed in both directions between junctions 11 and 14.
A police spokesman said: “Please find an alternative route. The road is likely to be closed for some time. We will update once the road has reopened. Thank you for your patience.”
