Traffic chaos hits flooded M65
Commuters faced more travel chaos this morning when one lane of the M65 had to be closed due to standing water.
Police closed the eastbound lane between junctions 12 and 13 at around 8-50am this morning after several calls from motorists.
A police spokesman said: "There was quite a significant amount of standing water on the motorway this morning due to the large amounts of rain we've had recently.
"We'd urge motorists travelling anywhere across the region to take extra care due to the bad weather."
As yet there is no estimated time of when the lane will re-open.
