Three children knocked down all within minutes of each other
Three boys were all taken to hospital after being knocked down in three separate incidents all within a 30 minute period in Nelson.
One 12-year-old boy suffered a broken leg after he was hit in Dover Street at around 6pm yesterday. He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital.
Shortly afterwards another 12-year-old boy was struck by a car in Leeds Road. He was transferred to Manchester Children's Hospital with head injuries not believed to be life threatening.
The final incident happened at 6-30pm when a nine-year-old boy was hit while crossing Glenfield Road. He suffered a bruised leg and was taken to Burnley General.
No arrests have been made. Anybody who witnessed any of the incidents is urged to contact the police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
